Yes, there should be 'project types' and each one of these have its own 'project status' list, both of which should be filterable within the Project List

Rather than them being the same for all projects, I'd like to create a template to serve as a "Business Dashboard" just to store information so I don't need approval stages and such.
Another project may be an actual project I'm working on where I would need different Kanban titles for approval stages.

Ability to have different statuses for a particular project

As I understand it, the task status dropdown is the same across all projects. I tried to set up an admin project that had different task statuses, but it changed all the task statuses across all of my projects so I had to change them back. It would be good if the task status could be customised on a per project basis

I agree with this.
I'd also love to see automated workflows able to work on projects and not just opportunities.

Crazy this hasn't been actioned already! +1 to this
I changed from Notion where on top of having different types of projects for graphic design, web design & photography - I would also plan social media content in it too and I am missing this flexibility in the project management.
A possible alternative is maybe providing a "filter" for the different types of statuses so we can at least hide the ones that aren't relevant whilst still having "custom" status' per project type.

+1 also! I also have different work flows based on different types of projects.

My projects have distinct work-flows and need different statuses from which I can make templates.
(Like the boards in Trello for example)
