EN 16931 - New EU e-Invoicing standard compliant invoices
planned
Roberth Aguilon
EU has implemented a new standard on e-invoicing which requires businesses and public entities to comply.

There is some haste here. While B2B e-invoicing between countries in the EU only becomes mandatory in July 2030, many countries have already made or are making it mandatory for B2B invoices within their countries.
In Estonia, I need to be ready to send and receive e-invoices in 2027, and already today if the other party is a government entity or requests it.
In Belgium, the whole thing kicks off in 2026.
And other countries have yet other deadlines https://www.vatcalc.com/global/live-vat-gst-transaction-e-invoicing-global-tracker/
I don't think any business in the EU will consider a platform that does not at least have the option to import and export compliant invoices. And of course, if there is an option to send and receive compliant invoices via the Peppol network, that would be even better.
