Client's can change their own notification settings

I have a client wildly annoyed with the number of notification emails she's receiving. Please do something about this ASAP.
I wouldn't necessarily want the client to be able to change the settings, because they might miss an important notification.
Suggestions:
—Default setting for each notification type. For example, always send comments, never send approval required notifications.
—Ability to trigger a specific notification. So when I post a comment, give me a checkbox that says, "Notify client."
—Ability to set frequency/time. Like 8 am and 1 pm.
—Summary email of all new and outstanding notifications since the last summary email was sent.
