I definitely need this - it will then match with a Quickbooks invoice which also uses description, cost, qty and total etc.
As a bonus, the ability make one or more line items optional!

I may choose not to use Hectic for this reason. It doesn't work for the way I do business. That's really sad because I love everything else about the app.

From Wava: "Not having this is a dealbreaker. I was hoping to itemize each line item inside of a package instead of just having it say "here's the total package amount" without any breakdown of the package. I don't really offer clients packages – usually more like we talk about a shoot scope and then I'll send a proposal that is like "hey, based on what we talked about here is what the project rate is"."

Dano Qualls: Thanks for adding that on here, Dano. Yes, it's absolutely key and will help serve a user base who doesn't offer different package options to choose from.
Multiple line items with a rate/cost associated with each of them is very standard, gives the client clarity, and helps them be confident that the person they're hiring is a pro and is able to articulate the value and cost breakdown of a project.

Yes, I agree! This feature is essential. Maybe formatted as a table block so that the freelancer can decide which fields we want to display in the row (unit type, Quantity, subtotal). Not every freelancer will need to display all those columns so having the ability to customize which ones you want in your proposal would be ideal.
It would also be amazing if you could format the table header row and footer row with your branding/colors.
I've attached an example of a table that I have in my current MS Word SOW
